Our Ashikos and Djun-Djuns are made from red and white oak, cherry, and walnut grown right here in Ozark County. We strive to support local businesses, and so we are quite pleased to get our wood from our neighbors at Heritage Wood Products, Inc. They are located in Tecumseh, MO, and their main business is crafting beautiful hard wood flooring. They have an impressive saw mill, and state of the art kiln drying operation. We feel very fortunate to have a supplier so near by. It is not always possible to get materials locally. It is gratifying for us to support small, local businesses, and use locally grown materials, because we feel it connects us even more to the place where we live and work. Building community is important to us in all aspects of our business.
Our ultimate goal is to build a drum from wood grown here at Eastwind. It is our hope to be as involved as possible in every aspect of constructing a drum. Thus, we are excited to announce that we have just begun to use our very own walnut grown right here on our 1000 acres of hills and forests.
